| Vidyaweb is an attempt to use e-learning for providing knowledge about increasingly popular open source technologies. The medium of instruction will be the language understood by the distance learner in India. Initially, we will start with beginner level courses for HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL and Linux. We will also introduce you to Open Source Content Management systems Joomla and Drupal as well as an E-Learning System Moodle. The primary method of instruction will be through discussing the problems and questions posted by users trying to do specific tasks and then solving their problems through discussions and examples. Please do not hesitate to ask; how simple is the question does not matter. Enrolment is open to all and you can join anytime. Available Courses Learn to create some basic pages using HTML and then go on to make them stand out using CSS. Control your HTML and CSS within your browser...make it respond quickly. This course aims to get you started in programming using PHP and then go on to create data-driven websites with the help of MySQL database. A course to get you started with Joomla, one of the most popular open source content management systems. A course to help you set up your site using Moodle - an open source Course Management System, more popularly understood as Learning Content Management System (LCMS) This Course will discuss the various tools available from with a bias towards open source and free software. This course aims at helping you to start using Linux This course will teach you how to customise Moodle when the standard Moodle is not enough for you. You will need to have some knowledge of PHP and databases to fully utilise this course. Learn how to harness the full power of XHTML and CSS for making standard compliant so that you can change the look and feel of your website with minimum effort. This course will show you how you can harness the full power of Javascript and AJAX to create responsive and interesting web-sites. This course will show you the ways that you can be more productive, both as an individual developer as well as a member of a team. This course will deal with advanced PHP including the object-oriented paradigm as well as MySQL database for Web programming.
